On the third day of your 6-day Morocco desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, your Sahara adventure begins after breakfast. First, you will join a 4×4 desert safari to explore the hidden beauty of Merzouga and the Sahara Desert.
During the safari, you will drive across the large dunes and follow tracks inspired by the famous Dakar Rally. This exciting ride gives you a great chance to enjoy the desert landscape and take amazing photos.
After that, you will visit a nomad family and share traditional Moroccan tea with them. This visit is a special way to learn about their simple lifestyle, desert traditions, and warm hospitality.
Next, you will continue to Khamlia village, a small village near Merzouga. This village is well known for Gnawa music and its rich cultural heritage. Here, you can enjoy traditional music with deep rhythms and learn more about the local desert culture.
Later, you will visit Srij Lake, a seasonal lake located near the golden dunes of Merzouga. When there is water, the lake becomes a resting place for birds migrating between Europe and Africa. It is also a peaceful spot for photos and desert views.
Around midday, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and taste Berber pizza, a traditional desert dish. After lunch, you will have some free time to relax before starting your camel ride.
Before sunset, you will go to the camel area and begin your camel trek toward the desert camp. Along the way, you will stop in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset, one of the most beautiful moments in the Sahara.
Finally, you will arrive at your desert camp, where you will spend an authentic night in the heart of the dunes. After a freshly prepared Moroccan dinner, you can enjoy Berber music, singing, dancing, and stories around the campfire under the starry sky. Dinner and breakfast are included.
