5 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech

On the first day of your 5-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, your journey begins after breakfast. First, your driver will pick you up from your riad in Fes. Then, you will travel toward Ifrane, a beautiful town in the Atlas Mountains, often called the “Switzerland of North Africa.”

Once you arrive in Ifrane, you will have time to take photos of the famous lion statue and learn a little about its history. After that, the trip continues through the large cedar forest, where you can stop to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and take pictures with the wild monkeys.

Next, you will drive to Midelt, known as the apple capital of Morocco. Here, you can enjoy local food and taste the fresh apples that make the area famous. In addition, Midelt is also known for minerals such as vanadinite and tourmaline.

After lunch, the journey continues through the scenic Tizi n Tlghmt pass and the beautiful Ziz Valley. This valley is one of the longest in Morocco and is filled with thousands of palm trees. Along the way, you can enjoy amazing views and stop for photos.

Later, you will pass through Erfoud, a town famous for dates and fossils. From there, you will drive about 43 km to reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Finally, you will spend your first night in a comfortable hotel near the dunes, where you can enjoy breathtaking desert views. The following night will be spent in a desert camp, where you can enjoy an authentic Berber experience under the stars.
